Tagaytay City—In order to strengthen their commitment to the liturgy, members of the Lectors and Commentators Ministry (LCM) of the SVD Tagaytay Community, gathered for an oath-taking ceremony last November 26, 2023.
The LCM, composed of 22 dedicated lectors and commentators, include 8 hailing from the SVD Laudato Si’ Farm. The LCM plays a vital role in the spiritual life of the SVD Tagaytay Community, to which the SVD Farm belongs.
In preparation for their oath, members of the LCM also attended a recollection last November 6, 2023.
Members of the LCM received guidance and inspiration during a recollection held on November 6, 2023, at the SVD Tagaytay Chapel. Facilitated by Rev. Fr. Atilano "Corks" Corcuera, SVD, the session focused on delving into the rich history of the liturgy of the Catholic Church, deepening the members' understanding of their crucial role in enhancing the worship experience.
As a concrete expression of their commitment to service, the LCM participated in an oath-taking ceremony last November 26, 2023, the same day as the Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus, King of the Universe, at the SVD Tagaytay Holy Spirit Chapel. The event was presided over by Rev. Fr. Joseph Anacleto "Titus" Mananzan, SVD, Spiritual Director of the SVD Postulancy, emphasizing the solemnity of their roles as lectors and commentators.
Leading the charge within the LCM is Frt. Kenneth Kurt Kierulf, SVD, serving as the head of the ministry, while Ms. Patricia de Vela holds the position of head lay coordinator. Rev. Fr. Stanislav Orečný, SVD, Prefect of the SVD Tagaytay Scholastics, also fulfills his role as the Chaplain of the SVD Farm, supported by Ms. Lina Gumpal, who serves as the lay coordinator of the SVD Farm’s Chapel of the Virgin of the Poor.
This dynamic team plays a crucial role in enhancing the worship experience for the SVD Tagaytay Community and the SVD Farm. Their commitment to spiritual growth and service is evident through their participation in meaningful events like the recollection and the oath-taking ceremony, which serve to strengthen their bond as a ministry dedicated to the liturgical life of the community.
As the Lectors and Commentators Ministry continues to thrive, their contributions to the SVD Tagaytay Community and the SVD Farm promise to enrich the spiritual journey of all those who gather for worship in this sacred space.
