Tagaytay City—The SVD Laudato Si’ Farm conducted the blessing ceremony for the St. Michael Souvenir Store and the newly-constructed St. Gabriel Refreshments Corner last November 24, 2023.
Both the St. Michael Souvenir Store and the St. Gabriel Refreshments Corner are located near the SVD Farm’s Oies Kitchenette.
Visitors to the SVD Farm may visit the St. Michael Souvenir Store for its collection of religious items, figurines, rosaries, and spiritual books. Various merchandise, including t-shirts, picture frames, refrigerator magnets, keychains, tote bags, umbrellas, hats, and wallets are also available for those who wish to show their support for the SVD Farm.
The souvenir store also offers official SVD Farm t-shirts, featuring designs inspired by its patroness Mary, Virgin of the Poor, as well as quotes from Laudato Si’, Pope Francis’ encyclical which inspired the name of the SVD Farm.
The souvenir store of the SVD Farm, before it was renamed to be the St. Michael Souvenir Store, was blessed last March 18, 2023.

At the St. Gabriel Refreshments Corner, visitors may avail of puto bumbong (steamed rice cake prepared in a cylindrical bamboo container) and bibingka (rice cake with coconut milk, eggs, and sugar; wrapped in banana leaves), both of which are traditional Filipino delicacies usually served during Christmas time. Other snacks and refreshing drink items are planned to be served at the location.
“Come and visit us here at the SVD Farm to not only help the SVD Tagaytay Community but also to experience good vibes and the spirit of Christmas,” said Mrs. Nancy Mendoza, who led the team at the St. Gabriel Refreshments Corner.
According to Mrs. Nancy, their supplies of puto bumbong and bibingka were sold out during their first two days, with a total of 400 sold. Even more were sold during the succeeding days due to high demand during the Christmas season.
