News—SVD Farm hosts series of weekly Advent recollections with SVD priest facilitators

Tagaytay City—During the four Saturdays preceding each Sunday of Advent, the SVD Laudato Si' Farm hosted a series of four recollections, during which attendees reflected about the themes of the Advent season.

Each Saturday began with a discussion of the upcoming Advent Sunday's theme at the St. Peter Fishpond and Gazebo at 8:00 AM, followed by the Holy Mass at 10:00 AM at the Chapel of the Virgin of the Poor.

The recollection facilitators, each an esteemed priest within the SVD community, led these gatherings, infusing their unique perspectives and insights into the Advent themes.

The first recollection was held last December 2, 2023, with Rev. Fr. Arlo Yap, SVD, enlightening participants on the theme of “Hope.”

The second recollection was held last December 9, 2023, with Rev. Fr. Stanislav Orečný, SVD, Prefect of the SVD Tagaytay Scholastics and Chaplain of the SVD Farm, guiding attendees in exploring the essence of “Love.”

Benefactors of the SVD Farm attended a concurrent recollection at the Farm on the same day, presided over by Rev. Fr. Samuel “Sam” N. Agcaracar, SVD, Executive Director of the SVD Farm and Rector of the SVD-Tagaytay Community.

The third recollection was held last December 16, 2023, with Rev. Fr. Franlou “Anloy” Bardon, SVD, librarian of the William Burrows Library at the Divine Word Institute of Mission Studies (DWIMS), immersing participants in the significance of “Joy.”

Concluding the series, the last recollection was held last December 23, 2023, with Rev. Fr. Joseph Anacleto "Titus" Mananzan, SVD, Spiritual Director of the SVD Postulancy, delved into the theme of “Peace.” This recollection wrapped up the community’s journey towards Christmas with a sense of tranquility and harmony.
