News—SVD Tagaytay singing priests serenade and bless couples during Harana sa Hapag ng Pag-Ibig at SVD Farm
Tagaytay City—Love filled the air at the SVD Laudato Si' Farm as it played host to a heartwarming celebration of love on February 13, 2024.
The enchanting evening, titled "Harana sa Hapag ng Pag-Ibig," unfolded at the St. Peter Fishpond and Gazebo, creating a memorable Valentine's Eve for couples in attendance.
The festivities began at 5:00 PM with the PM Holy Mass at the Chapel of the Virgin of the Poor, presided over by Rev. Fr. Samuel "Sam" Naceno-Agcaracar, SVD, Executive Director of the SVD Farm and Rector of the SVD Tagaytay Community. The Eucharist set the stage for an evening that seamlessly blended faith, love, companionship, and divine blessing.
Following the Mass, the program transitioned to the St. Peter Fishpond and Gazebo, where couples were welcomed to their designated tables adorned with elegant decor. The hosts for the evening were Rev. Fr. Severo “Jong” Biton, Jr., SVD, Vice Rector of Divine Word Seminary Tagaytay (DWST) and Director of the SVD Postulancy, and Ms. Olivia Ala-Tolentino.
Fr. Jong and Ms. Olive introduced the program, interviewing some of the attending couples to have them share their stories of love.
Afterwards, the special Valentine's Eve menu, curated by the SVD Farm’s culinary and operations consultant, Chef Babes Austria, was introduced by Ms. Joylene V. Leynes, Operations Management Department Head of the SVD Farm. As Ms. Joylene introduced the menu, the SVD Farm servers presented each item with flair.
The delectable menu featured an array of culinary delights, starting with a charcuterie board as an appetizer, followed by pumpkin soup. The main course showcased vegetable pasta and grilled chicken, culminating in a delightful passion fruit panna cotta for dessert. To complement the meal, wines were served to the delight of the guests.
Rev. Fr. Stanislav Orečný, SVD,Chaplain of the SVD Farm and Prefect of the SVD Tagaytay Scholastics, then conducted the solemn blessing of the food, infusing the culinary experience with a touch of spirituality.
Afterwards, the highlight of the evening began. As the couples indulged in the sumptuous feast, the enchanting voices of the SVD Tagaytay singing priests filled the air. Serenading the guests with renditions of popular love songs, the singing priests delivered inspiring messages, adding a musical and soulful dimension to the celebration.
Near the end of the evening, a solemn blessing was conferred upon the couples by the five newly-ordained priests from the SVD Tagaytay Community's Lumen Class—Rev. Fr. Edbelwin Jiah Manda, SVD who is assigned to the Philippine North, Rev. Fr. Karl Cabanalan, SVD, who is assigned to Mozambique, Rev. Fr. Godfrey Bondoc, SVD, who is assigned to Colombia, Rev. Fr. Carlo “Caloy” Salidaga, SVD, who is assigned to Papua New Guinea (PNG), and Rev. Fr. Arjie “Ducs” Ducayag, SVD, who is assigned to Japan. The priests offered heartfelt blessings for all attending couples, marking a unique and sacred moment in the celebration.
The "Harana sa Hapag ng Pag-Ibig" celebration at the SVD Laudato Si' Farm was a testament to the power of love, community, and spirituality converging in a magical evening that will be cherished by all who attended.
