The SVD Laudato Si' Farm stands as a testament to the profound impact that dedicated individuals can make on both the earth and the spirit.
Meet Ms. Joylene V. Leynes, Operations Management Department Head of the SVD Farm. In this feature, may we be inspired by her story.
Ms. Joy, 42, boasts a 20-year tenure in the food industry, initially with fast food chain Jollibee. Her journey began as a contractual employee, during which she donned various roles, from being in the front lines as a counter and food preparation staff to being a union officer for South Luzon for more or less a decade. Eventually, her multifaceted career saw her rise to the role of Assistant Manager.
While juggling managerial responsibilities, Ms. Joylene pursued a bachelor's degree in Psychology at Arellano University, a testament to her determination and commitment to self-improvement.
However, her life was not without its challenges. Her early marriage and a family, including children with special needs, added layers to her already challenging but fulfilling life.

Despite these challenges, Ms. Joylene stated that the challenges have not weakened but instead strengthened their familial bond. Her children, despite the adversities they face, actively contribute and support one another. The struggle has forged a resilient family unit, demonstrating the power of unity in overcoming life's hurdles.
Ms. Joylene shared that her initial aspiration was to establish a Special Education (SPED) school. Nevertheless, she shared that she is finding fulfillment in her current role at the SVD Farm, acknowledging how it is a unique opportunity for her to continue making a positive impact on others.
While her career path took an unexpected turn, Ms. Joy embraces her role at the SVD Farm as a meaningful avenue to extend assistance and share the lessons learned from her personal journey. Before joining the SVD Farm, Ms. Joylene shared that she found herself more focused on career goals than spirituality. However, her time with the SVD Farm family brought about a profound change. According to her, she transitioned from asking, "How can I help myself?" to "How can I help others and the SVD Farm?"
This spiritual awakening led her to a deeper connection with God. According to her, her days at the SVD Farm feature daily visits to the Chapel of the Virgin of the Poor, conversations with the Bless Mother, and prayers for her family and the SVD Farm family.
Last year, February 2022, Ms. Joylene took on the role of Operations Management Department Head at the SVD Farm. While her work mostly involved maintaining the day-to-day operations of the institution, she shared that her motivation for her work involves more than that.
According to her, her work is a mission that revolves around spreading awareness of the SVD Farm's goals and showcasing the love and spirituality embedded in its core.
Ms. Joylene expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the SVD Farm family and the SVD Tagaytay community, including the benefactors, government groups, and mentors who have contributed to its ongoing existence. She emphasized the importance of teamwork and highlighted the SVD Farm's commitment to its true mission—promoting ecospirituality and creating a haven for all visitors.
