Tagaytay City—The SVD Laudato Si' Farm hosted its annual Parade of Animals last May 19, 2024, marking the opening of Laudato Si’ Week and a belated celebration of the feast days of San Isidro Labrador and Santa Maria Torribia, the patron saints of farmers.
The event was a delightful gathering, featuring animals from the SVD Farm alongside pets brought by guests.
The day began with the Holy Mass at 3:00 PM at the Chapel of the Virgin of the Poor, presided over by Fr. Atilano Corcuera, SVD. Following the Mass, attendees assembled in front of the Ecospirituality Center, the retreat house of the SVD Farm, at 4:00 PM.
Mrs. Olivia Tolentino served as the host for the event, providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The introduction was followed by an opening prayer and a message.
The blessing of the assembled animals was led by Fr. Corcuera. With a sense of reverence and joy, he blessed the farm animals and pets, emphasizing the importance of all living creatures in the tapestry of creation.

After the blessing, the much-anticipated parade began. Animals of various kinds—from farm staples like cows, goats, and chickens to beloved pets such as dogs and cats—paraded through the SVD Farm grounds.
The procession was a colorful and heartwarming sight, showcasing the diversity of God’s creatures and the care they receive from their human companions.
The parade concluded at the SVD Farm Signage, bringing participants back together for a closing prayer and a final message from Fr. Samuel N. Agcaracar, SVD, Executive Director of the SVD Farm and Rector of the SVD Tagaytay Community.
In front of the iconic sign, the participants were then led in a communal song and dance performance of the Laudato Si' prayer by young members and volunteers of the SVD Farm family.
