Tagaytay City—The SVD Laudato Si' Farm partnered with De La Salle Lipa (DLSL) last July 23, 2024, during a day-long event dedicated to developing knowledge of food safety and food costing.
The event, themed "Pagkaing Bigay ng Diyos sa Atin, Pagyamanin!" (God’s Gift of Food to Us, Let’s Enrich It!), took place at the Prayer Hall of the SVD Farm’s Ecospirituality Center and was attended by employees and supervisors from the various units and departments of the SVD Farm.
The morning session kicked off with a seminar on "Safety and Sanitation Habits in the Food Industry." This session was hosted by Ms. Abigail E. Ygot, Human Resource (HR) Officer of the SVD Farm. The session was attended by employees and supervisors from the Food & Beverage and Housekeeping Units, as well as managers from the HR and Operations Management (OM) Departments.
The session began with an opening prayer led by Ms. Rhai Liongson, the Assistant Operations Manager, followed by opening remarks and the introduction of speakers by Dr. Rose Marie Salazar-Clemefia, a Management Consultant.
The seminar proper was facilitated by esteemed faculty members from the College of International Hospitality and Tourism Management of De La Salle Lipa (DLSL)—Chef Shirley T. De Jesus, MMT, CGSP, and Chef Pamela C. De Leon, END, MBA, CGSP. Their experience and expertise provided valuable insights into maintaining safety and sanitation standards.
The session concluded with an engaging open forum, allowing participants to address their queries and share their thoughts.

In the afternoon, the focus shifted to the "Seminar on Food Costing," which was attended by members of the SVD Farm's executive committee.
This session aimed to equip the attendees with essential skills in managing and controlling food costs, a critical aspect of running a sustainable food operation.
As the day concluded, participants left with a renewed sense of purpose and a deeper understanding of their roles in maintaining the integrity of the SVD Farm's food operations. The event was a testament to the SVD Farm's dedication to fostering a culture of excellence and responsibility among its staff and management.
